Geographic Categories.
The current research has as general objective to analyze the importance of active
methodologies in the construction of geographic reasoning, having as a cutout the
Municipal School Pedro Carnaúba, located in the municipality of Viçosa, Alagoas.
Throughout this research, we will discuss the teaching of Geography; discuss about the
use of active methodologies in Geography classes, their challenges and potential.
Finally, articulate these themes with the concepts and geographic categories that guide
this research.
In addition, a dialogue will be carried out with the normative documents that will be
discussed throughout this study, the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), the
Alagoas Curricular Reference (RECAL) and the Pedagogical Political Project (PPP)
regarding the implementation of the methodologies assets and their obstacles.
The research is based on the participatory action research method, which is a qualitative
research, in which we will use as methodological procedures the bibliographic survey,
the search in repositories and databases that will be essential for the development of a
contribution current theoretical and consolidated in the academic and scientific
environment. Questionnaires will be applied with Geography teachers and students. The
collected data will be analyzed through the method of content analysis based on Bardin.
