SUMMARY:

The environmental issue on the world stage gained space after the Industrial Revolution, to which the natural environment and society began to be affected by the unbridled exploitation of natural resources and the emission of carbon dioxide by large industries. As one of the measures to be implemented to remediate and repair environmental degradation, Conservation Units (UC) were created in order to preserve and conserve biomes or part of them, and this has been a common practice in the world and in Brazil. The object of study covers the conservation unit APA Catolé e Fernão Velho, located in the metropolitan region of Maceió, with the aim of analyzing the presence of environmental conflicts in the boundaries of the unit, using the APA Management Plan to confront the analysis. This study will contemplate the methodology of XAVIER-DA-SILVA (1993, 2001 and 2004) with the use of spatial analysis treatment technologies, with the intention of making the analysis and updating of the environmental scenario of the alterations in space and time of the proposed study area. This study aims to translate the current environmental scenario of the unit, to generate data to assist in studies, monitoring of environmental agencies responsible, reverberating in the improvement of the relationship between society and nature.
