GEOGRAPHY AND LITERATURE: THE LANDSCAPE OF MACEIÓ IN THE ROMANCE NINHO DE COBRAS, BY LÊDO IVO.

Literature can prove to be an area of knowledge capable of providing information
and descriptions to geography. Thinking in this way, the present research analyzes
the landscape of Maceió - AL in the pages of the fictional work of Lêdo Ivo -
especially the novel Ninho de Cobras - as a cultural representation, but also as a
space for sensitive experiences. Published in 1973, but set in the early 1940s, the
book has a modern narrative that does not present a main character, but several
protagonists - among them a fox - who make use of the space and invite the reader
to be part of the route. of a map of everyday experiences, sensorial experiences,
social conflicts and urban forms that make up the landscape of the capital of
Alagoas in a certain historical period. This is a qualitative research, focused on the
ontological, and from the hermeneutic method allied to a theoretical basis, it seeks
to perform an interpretation of a city-text that provides landscape experiences of
being in the world and being traversed by it.
