URBAN MOBILITY OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN THE CITY OF TEOTÔNIO VILELA IN ALAGOAS
City. Distance. Schools. Location. Routes.
The general objective of the study is to investigate the relationship between the location of high schools in Teotônio Vilela with the density of land use and its influence on student mobility, in order to understand whether these factors impact the average distances traveled by students to get to school. Based on the problem, it is understood that the analysis of the spatial distribution of travel conditions generated by public high schools, in relation to their location, can promote the creation of public policies for sustainable urban mobility, enabling the use of sustainable modes of travel . The option for an in-depth study of the spatial distribution of educational institutions was stimulated by the peculiar characteristic of the pre-determined schedules of trips generated and attracted by this type of equipment. The study of the spatial distribution of these public education institutions can show that the spatial separation established between schools and users causes the need to undertake motorized trips for study purposes, or to undertake long journeys on foot. The choice of the research topic is justified by the effort to contribute geographical observation information on spatial and territorial phenomena, seeking, in this way, to connect and relate them, thus providing a coherent structure of analysis.
