ADOPTION OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR: STUDY ON THE CONVERSION OF PHYSICAL PROCESSES TO ELECTRONIC FORMAT AT THE FEDERAL INSTITUTE OF ALAGOAS CAMPUS PALMEIRA DOS ÍNDIOS

The present work aims to analyze the changes from physical processes to electronic format at the Instituto Federal de Alagoas (IFAL) Campus Palmeira dos Índios. To achieve the proposed objectives, the research showed that, in the Brazilian context, although Public Administration has advanced since the 1990s, due to the adoption of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), the public sector still does not reach the same level update in the adoption of technological resources compared to the private sector. Digital preservation in Federal Institutes involves the set of practices and techniques used to guarantee the readability, integrity and accessibility of documents created and managed in digital format. To ensure success in converting a physical process to electronic format at IFALCampus Palmeira dos Índios, it is necessary to invest in information technology, as well as training servers to use new systems. In this sense, the study seeks to analyze the changes from physical processes to electronic format at the Instituto Federal de Alagoas (IFAL) Campus Palmeira dos Índios. To achieve the proposed objectives, the case study method is used. Data collection will be carried out through documentary research, participant observation and interviews will be carried out in person with a semi-structured script. The research is characterized as qualitative and descriptive exploratory. Documentary research techniques, participant observation and interviews were used to collect data. The objectively developed instrument gathered data on the digitalization process of IFAL Campus Palmeira dos Índios processes, as well as making a comparison between the process of processes before and after their digitalization. For this, the interview script will be developed based on indicators.
