THE EFFECTIVENESS OF DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES TO DISCENT IN FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF ALAGOAS

The Student Disciplinary Process - SDP is the instrument for investigating alleged infractions
by students within the institution to which they are linked. Thus, the objective of this work is
to analyze the current conditions of effectiveness in the establishment and conduction of SDPs
in the period from 2015 to 2019 in the context of the Federal University of Alagoas - Ufal. To
achieve the proposed objective, a systematic review of the literature on the effectiveness of
disciplinary processes will be sought in order to identify the main discussions on the topic and
to understand it better, to describe the fundamentals of student research procedures in the
disciplinary sphere of Ufal, with the presentation of the instruments that are currently used,
with the exploration of its SDPs between the years 2015 and 2019 and analysis of their
effectiveness. The research adopted a mixed methodological approach, with the combination
of qualitative and quantitative techniques, using bibliographic review and documentary
research, as well as using a questionnaire, semi-structured interview and participant
observation. Afterwards, the results will be exposed with quantitative and qualitative
comparisons to, at the end, indicate the elaboration of a Code of Student Conduct - CSC that
aims to curb unwanted conduct at the university, hold possible offenders accountable and
discipline the administrative procedure.
