ACADEMIC AND ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT IN A FEDERAL PUBLIC UNIVERSITY: THE ROLE OF THE UNDERGRADUATE COURSE COLLEGIATE
Academic Management; Administrative management; Undergraduate Course Collegiate; Higher education institutions.
Universities are complex and unique organizations with regard to their functioning and management, having their own organizational structure and ambiguous objectives. Within these institutions, activities of an academic nature, related to teaching, research and extension, and administrative activities, of a more bureaucratic and procedural nature, are developed simultaneously and sometimes in an integrated manner, which support and legitimize pedagogical actions. In addition, the multiplicity of sectors and instances that hold decision-making power, as well as the high degree of specialization and autonomy of their actors, make the decision-making processes of universities unpredictable and uncertain, causing doubts about the functions and roles of various academic and administrative bodies. In this sense, the present study aims to analyze the role of Course Collegiate in the academic and administrative management of undergraduate courses at the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL), Campus Arapiraca, taking into account their specificities and limitations. To this end, data will be collected through the analysis of institutional documents from UFAL and semi-structured interviews with effective members of the course collegiate. For the analysis of such data, the technique of content analysis will be applied.
