MANAGEMENT SKILLS AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF SKILLS FOR INNOVATION IN PEOPLE MANAGEMENT PRACTICES: A STUDY AT THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF ALAGOAS
Competences; innovation in the public sector; innovation in people management practices.
The competencies of teams and individuals for innovation in the public sector are crucial for the public organization's ability to innovate and generate public value to society. Developing these skills in public servants is one of the challenges in the People Management (GP) area of the Federal Institutions of Higher Education (Ifes). The present work aims to analyze how managers' competences can contribute to the development of competences for innovation in PM practices at the Federal University of Alagoas (Ufal). With a basic qualitative study approach and through data triangulation, data collection takes place from participant observation, bibliographic and documentary research, interviews and questionnaire application with technical-administrative servers and professors occupying management or leadership positions at the Pro-Rectory of Personnel and Work Management (Progep) at Ufal. Data on the profile and competencies for innovation of managers and innovation in PM practices are subjected to thematic content analysis and descriptive statistics.
