Judicial decisions unfavorable to the public administration with financial penalty, are converted into the instrument called “precatório”, entering a payment queue that in 2021 comprised a volume of R$ 89 billion, only with regard to the Federal Union. This number contrasts with the successive cuts and contingencies applied to the federal budget, with emphasis on the cuts in the scientific research budget, which has accumulated a total of BRL 80 billion in the last seven years (CAMARA DOS DEPUTADOS, 2022) The study addresses the quality of the response dynamics of judicial requests within the scope of the Federal University of Alagoas in order to ensure, directly or indirectly, that this response takes place in an adequate time and manner, avoiding costs arising from the application of fines for non-compliance, judicial defeat by default in the face of the university's non-manifestation or even lack of information, making the defense of the entity precarious.
