SUMMARY:

The present work aims to analyze the implementation of the new regulatory framework for basic sanitation in Alagoas, under the terms of Federal Law No. 14,026/2020 and propose a diagnosis that encompasses a comprehensive assessment of the sectoral policy. To achieve the proposed objectives, empirical, qualitative research of a descriptive nature will be carried out, through the observation of evidence collected in the official channels of the Government of Alagoas. As for data collection techniques, we chose to use secondary data and document analysis. The aim is to analyze the data and information contained on the website Public-Private Partnerships of the State of Alagoas and the Public Services Regulatory Agency of the State of Alagoas (ARSAL), as well as the legal instruments that regulate the sector at federal and state level. The present study will offer an analysis that
contributes to the understanding of the implementation process of Law No. 14,026, of July 15, 2020, which serves as a new reference in the area of basic sanitation, with the aim of highlighting its potential for advances in corresponding public policy and scope of universalization of water and sewage coverage services in the state of Alagoas.
