BETWEEN PERFORMANCE AND DECENTRALIZATION: A PROPOSAL FOR A GUIDE TO PROCEDURES FOR ACADEMIC RECORDS ON IFAL CAMPUSES
quality; performance; administrative decentralization; processes management.
The present study aims to understand how standardizing the execution of academic record-keeping procedures through a procedural guide can enhance the performance of the Academic Records Coordination Offices (CRA’s) at the Federal Institute of Alagoas (IFAL). The administrative decentralization of procedures can affect process standardization at IFAL, and the implementation of a standardized guide can improve the performance of the services offered. This work demonstrates that it is possible to propose the decentralized standardization of academic record-keeping activities while maintaining the autonomy of the campuses. In this regard, the development and application of this study can benefit students, staff, and the academic community by promoting transparency, legal certainty, and enhancing society's trust in the services provided by the Federal Institute of Alagoas. Regarding the methodology employed, it is an applied qualitative study of an exploratory nature, utilizing both primary and secondary data through the content analysis technique. To contextualize this study and deepen the understanding of the subject, an exploratory search was conducted in four stages: construction of the analysis model, bibliographic exploration, document exploration, and the application of an exploratory questionnaire with the stakeholders involved in academic record-keeping processes at IFAL. Through the development of this work, the aim is to increase the performance of CRA’s, mitigating the bottlenecks resulting from administrative decentralization through the standardized execution of procedures without compromising the autonomy of the stakeholders involved.
